Success in restoring postural balance following breast surgery depends on several key factors. Most important is the proper selection and fitting of a weighted breast form. The silicone breast form is a prosthesis worn inside a bra to simulate the shape and weight of your natural breast. Silicone warms to body temperature and closely resembles the feel of body tissue. To function effectively, a breast prosthesis must be worn in a bra with built in pockets made for this special need. Bras with built in pockets are designed with the mastectomy patient in mind. The camisole style undergarments are designed to be worn immediately following breast surgery giving shape, confidence and protection. With wide lace elastic straps, either can be stepped into or pulled over the head. Perfect throughout recovery and later for leisure times, whenever comfort is desired. Both are partially covered by Medicare and some private insurance companies.
